Ashneer Grover reveals he rejected Virat Kohli as brand ambassador

 

When Ashneer Grover explained to Virat Kohli why he had rejected him and his wife Anushka Sharma for the position of brand ambassadors, Virat concurred that his choice made sense from a commercial standpoint.

Ashneer Grover, a Shark Tank India contestant, detailed the incident in which he turned down Virat Kohli's request to serve as a brand ambassador and instead paid 11 other players half of what Kohli would have demanded in order to sign them. He claimed to have told the legendary cricketer this tale, and Kohli was impressed with his sense of enterprise.

Ashneer claimed during an appearance on the Vagehra Vagehra podcast that he was also offered actor Anushka Sharma, Kohli's wife, as part of the package while they were considering the arrangement. He didn't like that, though.

Ashneer gave some background information before starting his story. As every square inch of the players' jerseys is covered in advertisements, he offered that because he was in conversation with certain brokers about an IPL contract, he would like to place his on their behinds. Ashneer claimed that the broker advised him to hire Kohli as a workaround because the concept wasn't taken seriously.
